 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event. Kogi guber: I survived four assassination attempts – Dino Melaye


Dino Melaye, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Kogi State, on Thursday, claimed that he survived four assassination attempts in the state.


Melaye blamed the attempts on the All Progressives Congress, APC, stressing that violence is in the DNA of the party.


He disclosed this while featuring on Arise Television.


The former Kogi West Senator said tension has been part of the lives of the Kogi people since the APC came into power seven years ago.


According to Melaye: “I have survived four assassination attempts; I have had 12 court cases of FG vs. Dino Melaye, and I have been attacked severally. It is not new, as it is in the DNA of the APC to be violent.


“Kogi State is like an evil forest that needs instantaneous redevelopment and needs a messiah.”


The former senator said he hopes to be instrumental in ameliorating the pains of those living in the state.


He further said it has never been this bad in the history of Kogi, as the state is more divided than at any other time in its history.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
