 FG constitutes committee to study impact of new US tariffs The Federal Government has set up a subcommittee to evaluate the potential economic impact of the recent trade tariff by the United States government. A Friday statement issued by the director of information and public relations at the ministry, Mohammed Manga, said the decision came after a meeting of the Economic Management Team (EMT), chaired by Wale Edun, minister of finance and coordinating minister of the economy. While Nigeria’s main export – crude oil – is not directly targeted by the new US tariffs, these policy changes have happened at the same time as falling international oil prices. This timing raises concerns about possible pressure on Nigeria’s revenue and budget.  His Excellency Mr Peter Obi Pays Condolence Visit To Late Nollywood Actor, Jnr Pope Odonwodo’s Family In Ukehe, Enugu State



The 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Nollywood actor, Junior Pope.


 Obi signed the condolence register and also took a picture with the late actor's children.


A Nollywood actor and ex-spokesperson of the Labour Party presidential campaign council, Kenneth Okonkwo, took to his Instagram account to share pictures accompanied by videos of the visit on Saturday.


 Okonkwo's caption read, ”HE Peter Obi arrived at the residence of John Paul Odonwodo, Junior Pope, to pay his condolences to his family over the sad, and untimely departure of their child, brother, husband, and father. He consoled his mother, Mrs Maria Odonwodo, the widow, Jennifer, and his children.”


Recall that Junior Pope died on April 10, 2024, alongside three others after their boat capsized on the Anam River in Anambra State while returning from a film location.


He was laid to rest at his hometown, Ukehe in Nsukka Local Government Area, Enugu State, on Friday.


He Was One Of His Biggest Fan When He Was Alive ❤️💔🕊️

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
