 Anambra State Govt sets January 1, 2026, Deadline for Relocation of Traders to Kilometre 8 Market  By Ebele Iyke Odili  The Anambra State Government has reaffirmed its directives for the final relocation of the remaining traders operating on Port Harcourt Road, Uga Street and Atani Road, Onitsha, to the Allied Building Materials International Market, Nteje, located at Kilometre 8, Onitsha–Enugu Expressway. Speaking during an official visit to the market in Nteje, the Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo, on Trade and Markets, Chief Evarist Uba, announced that affected traders have been given up to January 1, 2026, to complete their relocation to the permanent site. Chief Uba said that the relocation directive affects the following Unions: Iron Dealers, God’s Favor Building Materials, Premier Lock-Up, Trinity and Unity, PVC Pipe,  Combined Building Materials, and Plastic Tanks, others currently operating outside the approved market locations in Onitsha. ZAMFARA GOVERNOR APPOINTS GUMMI AS ACTING CHAIRMAN FOR THE STATE SECURITY TRUST FUND. (PHOTO).


 Governor Dauda Lawal appoints acting Chairman for the State Security trust fund Board.


Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara has approved the appointment of Brigadier General Abdulkadir Abubakar Gummi rtd as the Acting Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Zamfara State Security Trust Fund.


A Statement by the  Secretary to the State Government, Malam Abubakar Mohammed Nakwada and issued to newsmen by his Senior Special Assistant on media Ahmad Yudu says the appointment takes immediate effect.


The statement says the appointee has an illustrious career in the Nigerian Army, rising through the ranks to attain Brigadier General before his retirement.


“Based on his credentials, His Excellency is confident that under Brig. Gen. Gummi's leadership, the Security Trust Fund Board of Trustees, will realize its central mission of mobilizing the necessary resources to strengthen the security architecture and provide the required support to our security forces to effectively prosecute the fight against banditry and related crimes across the state.


According to the statement, Governor Dauda lawal extends his best wishes to Brig. Gen. Abubakar Gummi (rtd) in his new role and urges all relevant stakeholders to fully support him in realizing the goals of the Board. 


It maintains that, the Board is expected to now begin delivering on its mandate to strengthen the security framework and support security forces in the fight against banditry and other criminalities in all parts of Zamfara State"


The SSG thanked the outgoing Chairman of the Board for his service to the state and wished him success in his future endeavors.
