 WATER AID NIGERIA RENOVATES ODO-NLA PHC, INSTALLS 12,000 LITRE WATER PLANT, WASH MAINTENANCE KITS  The Odo-Nla Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC) in Ikorodu North LCDA has undergone a major transformation, thanks to WaterAid Nigeria, which spearheaded its renovation and the installation of a 12,000-litre water plant to enhance healthcare service delivery.  The official commissioning and handover ceremony, held on March 25, 2025, also included the presentation of two sets of WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) maintenance kits, aimed at promoting hygiene and infection control within the facility.  Again, Police arrest singer, Speed Darlington


Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have arrested a Nigerian musician, Darlington Okoye, popularly known as Speed Darlington, in Owerri, the Imo State capital.


Counsel for the singer and Human rights lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, confirmed the development in a post on his official X page on Wednesday.


Adeyanju stated that his client was arrested while performing at a show in Owerri, days after returning to the country earlier in the week.


He wrote, “Our client, Speed Darlington, a.k.a AKPI, has been arrested by the Nigeria Police in Owerri at his show upon return to Nigeria.”


However, the reason for the singer’s arrest remains unclear at the time of filing this report.


The Nigeria Police had arrested Darlington over alleged cyberstalking of a fellow musician, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy.


The singer was arrested in Lagos and transferred to Abuja before being detained by the IGP’s Intelligence Response Team in the Guzape area of Abuja.


The musician, who was accused of cyberstalking Burna Boy, was released on bail days after his arrest.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
