 Family seeks help as kidnapper abducts five-year-old daughter in Lagos The family of Memunah Abdulrahman is appealing to the public for assistance after their five-year-old daughter was abducted by a suspected kidnapper in the Ejigbo area of the state. PUNCH Metro learnt on Tuesday that the missing girl was abducted on March 9, 2025, while she and her sister were returning from an Islamic school. According to sources, upon reaching a popular supermarket in the community, the suspect approached Abdulrahman and her sister and led them inside the store. While pretending to buy them some items at the supermarket, PUNCH Metro gathered that the suspect disappeared with Memunah, leaving her sister behind. After the incident was reported at the Ejigbo Divisional Police Headquarters, the police reviewed the CCTV footage, which revealed the suspect abducting the child and escaping in a tricycle.  Fire Razes Ebute Ero Market in Lagos


The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service has successfully contained the fire that broke out at Ebute Ero Market, near the Police Station adjacent to Carter Bridge, Lagos Island, in the early hours of today, Saturday, November 30, 2024.


The fire, which raged overnight, was prevented from spreading beyond its point of origin as a result of the swift response of Lagos firefighters from the Ebute Elefun, Dolphin, Sari-Iganmu, and Alausa stations. Their effective management of the situation minimized further damage.


While the fire has been extinguished, it resulted in the loss of several lock-up shops within the bungalow structures that trade in various tools and kitchenwares.


As the operation winds down with mop-up exercise, an enumeration is ongoing to determine the number of shops affected and the estimated value of the losses incurred. The investigation to uncover the exact cause of the fire is also being carried out. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported from the incident.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
