 ANAMBRA POLICE COMMAND RECEIVES AND AUGMENTS IGP’S MONITORING UNIT OPERATIVES ON ENFORCEMENT OF POLICE PERSONNEL WITHDRAWAL FROM VIP ESCORT DUTIES IN THE STATE The Anambra State Police Command today 8th December 2025 formally received operatives of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP)’s Monitoring Unit deployed to the state to ensure full implementation of the IGP’s directive on the withdrawal of police personnel from VIP escort and guard duties. The Commissioner of Police CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc mnips PhD reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to supporting the IGP’s reform efforts targeted at enhancing professionalism, discipline, and optimal deployment of police manpower nationwide. The CP noted that the withdrawal of these officers will help to strengthen public policing, improve response capacity, and ensure that more personnel are available for core policing duties across the state.  No Longer Required for Redeployment: Name Change for Married Female Corps Members – NYSC


The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced that married female corps members will no longer need to change their names for redeployment.


This update is outlined in a circular signed by Abubakar Mohammed, the Director of Corps Mobilization, which was sent to directors, acting directors, and coordinators in the states and Federal Capital Territory (FCT).


The circular, titled “Review of Criteria for Concessional Deployment/Relocation for Married Female Corps Members,” revealed that the NYSC management has revised the criteria for granting concessional deployment or relocation to married female corps members.


It further clarified that state coordinators are now instructed that changing a maiden name to that of a spouse is no longer a requirement for the approval of such requests. All other criteria remain unchanged.
