 *[POLICE PRESS RELEASE]* EKITI POLICE ARREST 11 SUSPECTS OVER ATTACK ON OMOYELE SOWORE IN ADO-EKITI; INVESTIGATION CONTINUES.  The Ekiti State Police Command has arrested eleven (11) suspects in connection with the alleged attack on Mr Omoyele Sowore, an African Action Congress (AAC) presidential aspirant, and other persons at Tawakalitu Restaurant, Dalimore Area of Ado-Ekiti. Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad(RRS), based on a credible tip-off swooped on the hideouts of the suspects at Atikankan Area of Ado-Ekiti at about 10:00 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2026, where they were arrested. The suspects are: Joseph Tayo '32yrs', Olatunji Abayomi '41yrs', Isaac Amba '22yrs', Kehinde Ajigbana '18yrs', Tosin David '18yrs', Solomon Iyanu '18yrs', Ogunsola Ayomide '21yrs', Ojo Ayodeji '22yrs', Kayode Dada '32yrs', Segun Olatunji '28yrs' and Salami Emmanuel '53yrs'.  Osun Government Appoints Prince Jokotola as New Olojudo of Ido-Osun


The Osun State Executive Council has officially approved the appointment of Prince Jokotola Olayinka Tunde as the new Olujudo of Ido-Osun in the Egbedore Local Government Area. He succeeds the late Oba Aderemi Adedapo.


The Olojudo stool is governed by the 1956 Registered Declaration, which stipulates that the Adenko Ruling House is next in line for the position.


In a statement released on Friday, the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, confirmed that the selection process adhered to all relevant laws and procedures.


The Council has urged the new monarch to work towards fostering peace and progress for both the town and the state. Governor Ademola Adeleke had previously emphasized the importance of continuing to deliver democratic benefits, stressing that the reward for hard work is even greater effort.


Governor Adeleke highlighted the positive public reception of the government’s actions and called on the administration to sustain and even accelerate its efforts, focusing on the state's five-point agenda while keeping the momentum of progress intact.
