 ANAMBRA POLICE COMMAND RECEIVES AND AUGMENTS IGP’S MONITORING UNIT OPERATIVES ON ENFORCEMENT OF POLICE PERSONNEL WITHDRAWAL FROM VIP ESCORT DUTIES IN THE STATE The Anambra State Police Command today 8th December 2025 formally received operatives of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP)’s Monitoring Unit deployed to the state to ensure full implementation of the IGP’s directive on the withdrawal of police personnel from VIP escort and guard duties. The Commissioner of Police CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc mnips PhD reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to supporting the IGP’s reform efforts targeted at enhancing professionalism, discipline, and optimal deployment of police manpower nationwide. The CP noted that the withdrawal of these officers will help to strengthen public policing, improve response capacity, and ensure that more personnel are available for core policing duties across the state.  Osun Government Appoints Prince Jokotola as New Olojudo of Ido-Osun


The Osun State Executive Council has officially approved the appointment of Prince Jokotola Olayinka Tunde as the new Olujudo of Ido-Osun in the Egbedore Local Government Area. He succeeds the late Oba Aderemi Adedapo.


The Olojudo stool is governed by the 1956 Registered Declaration, which stipulates that the Adenko Ruling House is next in line for the position.


In a statement released on Friday, the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, confirmed that the selection process adhered to all relevant laws and procedures.


The Council has urged the new monarch to work towards fostering peace and progress for both the town and the state. Governor Ademola Adeleke had previously emphasized the importance of continuing to deliver democratic benefits, stressing that the reward for hard work is even greater effort.


Governor Adeleke highlighted the positive public reception of the government’s actions and called on the administration to sustain and even accelerate its efforts, focusing on the state's five-point agenda while keeping the momentum of progress intact.
