STATEHOUSE PRESS STATEMENT PRESIDENT TINUBU'S MESSAGE OF CONDOLENCE TO CHIMAMANDA ADICHIE AND HER FAMILY   With a deep sense of grief, I condole with Ms Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, her husband, Dr Ivara Esege, and the entire family on the passing of their son, Nkanu Nnamdi.   As a parent myself who has suffered the loss of a loved one, no grief is as devastating as losing a child.   I empathise with the family at this difficult time, and I mourn this sad loss with them.   Ms Adichie is a literary icon who has brought joy and light to many homes globally, and I pray she and her family find strength in the Almighty in this trying hour.   My prayers are with the family.   Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Federal Republic of Nigeria January 8, 2026

DISNEY INVESTED $650 MILLION IN JUST 24 EPISODES OF 'ANDOR,' MAKING IT ONE OF THE MOST EXPENSIVE TELEVISION SERIES EVER PRODUCED. (PHOTO).

The numbers are jaw-dropping: Disney invested $650 million in just 24 episodes of 'Andor,' making it one of the most expensive television series ever produced. But creator Tony Gilroy revealed something even more shocking at the ATX Television Festival - during Season 2 negotiations, Disney executives told him "streaming is dead" and tried to slash the budget.

Despite the financial drama behind the scenes, Gilroy fought hard to maintain the show's quality and creative vision. The series, which wrapped last month to widespread critical acclaim, pushed boundaries that other Star Wars content couldn't, tackling mature themes like genocide and assault while maintaining the franchise's core appeal.

This revelation raises important questions about the sustainability of high-budget streaming content.
