 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  “Sai Peter Obi” – Bashir El-Rufai’s Public Support For Peter Obi Sparks Reactions


Bashir El-Rufai, son of former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai, stirred widespread reactions on social media Wednesday after openly expressing support for Labour Party's Peter Obi.


Once known for his sharp criticism of Obi, Bashir surprised many by sharing a photo of the former Anambra governor standing beside his father during the opposition coalition meeting held on July 2. He captioned the post with a telling remark: “He don dey mature,” signaling a shift in his political stance.


When asked by a user on X (formerly Twitter) whether he would now stop criticizing Obi, Bashir confirmed that his views had indeed changed. He went on to declare his support with the Northern slogan: “Sai Peter Obi.”


Addressing the sudden change, Bashir defended his new position, stating that just as other political commentators revise their opinions, he too has the right to reassess and update his political beliefs.
