 NDC STATEMENT ON COURT RULING Our attention has been drawn to a ruling by the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja this morning, wherein His Lordship, Honourable Justice Isah Dashen, gave a ruling on an application filed by an unregistered association known as Peace Movement Party. The public knows that by December 2025, the Nigeria Democratic Congress  as an association complained of INEC’s refusal to register us as a political party, whereupon we proceeded to the Federal High Court. The Federal High Court upheld our constitutional right to freedom of association under the Constitution and compelled INEC to register us, which INEC did. Since then, we have started political activities, embarked on the registration of members, held congresses from ward to national levels, held conventions, and concluded primaries to all offices following INEC’s timetable. POST-NBA CONFERENCE: CP GIWA HAILS SECURITY SUCCESS, APPRECIATES IGP, THANKS ENUGU GOV


The Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, psc, has hailed the resounding security success recorded during the 2025 Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Annual Conference in Enugu. He credited the feat to the professionalism and dedication of officers and men of the Command.


The commendation came during a post-conference debriefing with key supervisory officers. The Commissioner described their efforts as exemplary, stressing that their discipline and synergy with sister security agencies ensured the high-profile event was held without any breach of peace.


CP Giwa appreciated the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, for his guidance and support, which greatly enhanced the success of the operations. He also thanked the Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for his unwavering backing of security efforts, and commended sister security agencies for their effective collaboration throughout the Conference.


The Commissioner reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to sustaining professionalism and proactiveness in protecting lives and property, while urging residents to remain law-abiding and continue to support the Police with timely and credible information.
