 How Bauchi Accountant-General Transferred State Funds to Private Company - Witness   Trial of the Accountant-General of Bauchi State, Sirajo Muhammed Jaja continued on Monday, September 21, 2026 at the Federal High Court in Abuja presided over by Justice Obiora Egwuatu with a witness revealing how Jaja diverted state funds to a private company. Jaja is facing prosecution by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC ,  alongside Aliyu Abubakar, Abubakar Muhammed Hafiz, Ari Manga and Muhammed Aminu Bose, for alleged corruption. The defendants are being prosecuted by the EFCC on an amended five-count charge of money laundering, diversion of public funds, and criminal misappropriation of funds to the tune of N1,635,270,350.9 (One Billion, Six Hundred and Thirty-five Million, Two Hundred and Seventy Thousand, Three Hundred and Fifty Naira, Nine Kobo).  GOV. ALIA OFFERS FREE MEALS IN MAKURDI RESTAURANTS 

Governor Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia has announced free meals at two popular Makurdi restaurants, Kilimanjaro and Amala Spot, along Iyorchia-Ayu Road, today.


The initiative aims to support residents and foster community goodwill. Patrons at both restaurants were treated to complimentary meals, drawing large crowds eager to partake in the offer.


A spokesperson from the governor’s office said the gesture reflects the administration’s commitment to social welfare and promoting local businesses. “Governor Alia believes in giving back to the people and encouraging community engagement,” the spokesperson said.


Residents expressed gratitude for the initiative, praising the governor for his concern for the welfare of the people.


The free meal offer will run throughout the day, after which both restaurants will resume normal operations. This initiative is part of the state government’s broader efforts to promote social support and unity in Benue.
