 LAGOS CELEBRATES SOPHIA EKERUCHE: WORLD’S BEST YOUTH FEMALE SCRABBLE PLAYER The Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC) hosted Wizkid Scrabble player Sophia Ekeruche of Team Lagos, the 15-year-old crowned the world's best female Scrabble player at the just-concluded World Youth Scrabble Championship held in Kenya this past August. Hon. Lekan Fatodu, Director General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, received the young champion in his office at Teslim Balogun Stadium.  Pretoria High Court sentences midwife to 23 years in prison 


The Pretoria High Court has sentenced midwife Yolande Maritz Fouchee to 23 years imprisonment after finding her guilty on multiple charges, including culpable homicide involving a newborn baby who died after nine days.


Fouchee was also convicted on 11 counts of assault, fraud, and illegally employing an unqualified person at her private midwifery practice.


According to reports, she used social media platforms, including Facebook, to attract clients to her practice. At the height of the business, she was reportedly earning between R100,000 and R200,000 per month.
