 Women in Gaza are being traded for food, forced to marry their rapists-UN Women in Gaza are being traded for food and forced into marriages with their rapists, according to a pair of reports from the United Nations — underscoring the critical importance of President Trump’s Board of Peace in the war-torn enclave. There was a 123% increase in the number of early and forced marriage incidents across Gaza in the first quarter of 2026, with women between the ages of 18-59 suffering 68% of all gender-based violence (GBV) in the Palestinian enclave, the United Nations’ Population Fund (UNFPA) found. Researchers spoke to women who said young girls were married off to rapists, traded for food or given up by guardians who did not want to take care of them amid the humanitarian crisis caused by the Israel-Hamas war. “The second highest form of GBV reported was psychological and emotional violence, followed by physical violence, sexual violence, and forced and early marriage,” the researcher...

Beloved veteran Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry with an emotional, tear-filled plea from her hospital bed, asking Nigerians to help save her life.


The veteran screen icon, who has graced Nigerian television screens for decades, revealed that she has been hospitalized for the past three weeks. In a heartbreaking video shared on her official Instagram account, Nwosu explained that her health has deteriorated severely and that she is currently battling intense physical pain.


An Urgent Cry for Financial Support


In her emotional address, Nwosu admitted that her medical condition has escalated beyond her personal resources. She pleaded with her loyal fans, colleagues, and the public not to abandon her during this dark hour, explaining that she has three major surgeries ahead of her.


Speaking from her sickbed, the actress shared: "My people, my fans, and my family, I know that you have not seen me in circulation for some time. I have been hospitalized now for three weeks. Please, the situation has gone beyond my control. I need your help. Don’t let me die."


₦30 Million Needed for Critical Surgeries


Nwosu went on to disclose the heavy financial toll of her medical treatment, stating that the total cost for all three upcoming surgeries is ₦30 million. Unable to raise this massive sum alone, she called upon well-meaning Nigerians, corporate bodies, and philanthropists to assist her in securing the critical medical care she needs.


"I am going through a lot of pain. I have three surgeries to go through with. Please, don’t let me die," she added, urging anyone who wishes to support her to reach out directly to her management team.


Nigerians Rally Around the Veteran Star


Since the emotional video went live, the Nigerian online community has rallied in solidarity. Social media platforms have been flooded with prayers, messages of hope, and urgent calls to action, with many begging the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) and wealthy patrons of the arts to step in and save the legendary actress.
