2023 Presidency : Zoning And Support For Ahmad Lawan  I congratulate my friend, former roommate and boss , Senator Ahmad Lawan as he picks form to run for President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria under our great party , All Progressives Congress (APC) . I am most glad because he is from the North East , the only zone alongside South East that is yet to produce President of Nigeria. I have always maintained an unambiguous stand that for justice , equity and fairness in our country, the next president of Nigeria after President Muhammadu Buhari should come from the South East or the North East . I have also told Nigerians that I would only run for president if the two major political parties (APC and PDP) zone their tickets to the South East . Elder statesman, Chief Robert Clarke, has called for the extension of President Muhammadu Buhari’s tenure. The Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), who said this on Monday, argued that the months preceding the 2023 elections are not sufficient to put an end to the insecurity, making the conduct of election possible. Speaking when he featured on ARISE Television, Clarke maintained that the Constitution provides that the President can extend his tenure for six months, in the first instance, if he feels that conditions are not good to carry out elections. He averred that it was wrong to believe that the President cannot stay in office for more than eight years of two tenures. Clarke said the President can continue to give himself fresh six months extension a time elections could be held.  

2023: Dutch Nigerian Wiebe Boer Declares Interest In Plateau Governorship Race A Dutch Nigerian, Wiebe Boer or Yohanna Maigona has declared interest in the governorship race in Plateau State. It was not clear if Maigona was being sarcastic as his preferred party is not registered in Nigeria. In the poster that has flooded the internet, Maigona gave his party as “All for All Peoples Party”. Maigona who lives in Jos and has lived there all his life speaks an impeccable Hausa. He speaks Hausa fluently and also attended a Secondary school in the city. Maigona is the CEO of All On Energy, which is involved in renewable energy, such as solar power. He also has an affiliation with Pan African Writers Association(PAWA).  

PRESS RELEASE  LASG EMBARKS ON DEMOLITION OF DISTRESSED BUILDINGS To prevent building collapse and secure lives and property, the Lagos State Government is set to embark on the demolition of identified distressed buildings in the State. The Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Idris Salako made this known in his office on Monday while giving updates on Government building collapse prevention plans. He stated that the focus of the exercise were structures already marked as distressed by the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) particularly in Ebute-Metta East where an occupied building collapsed a week ago with many others vividly showing distress signs. Actor Ncuti Gatwa will take over from Jodie Whittaker as the star of Doctor Who, the BBC has announced. The 29-year-old will become the 14th Time Lord on the popular science fiction show, and the first person of colour to play the lead role. Scottish actor Gatwa, who was born in Rwanda, is best known for starring in Netflix's sitcom Sex Education. He told BBC News: "It feels really amazing. It's a true honour. This role is an institution and it's so iconic." Speaking on the red carpet before Sunday's Bafta TV Awards, where he was nominated for Sex Education, Gatwa said the role of the Doctor "means a lot to so many people, including myself".
