Trumps says terror suspects in possible Iran-linked plot to attack UK base were being watched: ‘Looking to do big damage’ President Trump suggested that several of the men who were nabbed and stripped down by British cops on terrorism charges had been under surveillance for some time. On Sunday, British authorities apprehended five suspects accused of scheming a terrorist attack near a military base in the United Kingdom used by the US in the past, including for very limited strikes during the war against Iran. Iran was being eyed as the most likely source of the terror plot after previously threatening the base, sources told The Telegraph. Locals called authorities about three suspicious vans near the scene, now believed to have been laden with chemicals.  “Working with Britain, it was an amazing job,” Trump told reporters on Sunday. “We had them under investigation.  Iran ready for ‘doomsday war’ after Trump rejects cease-fire proposal — but still wants peace- Tehran negotiator  Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi insisted that his country is fully prepared for a “doomsday war” with the US, but claimed the regime prefers peace. “We stand firm in the face of any aggression against us, even when it comes to a doomsday war,” Araghchi told NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday. “At the same time, we are ready for diplomacy.” Araghchi pointed to Iran’s seven-day cease-fire proposal as a “very reasonable plan on the table,” despite President Trump’s decision to reject that overture. The proposal purportedly entailed the US unfreezing some $12 billion in frozen Iranian assets, ending the blockade, and easing sanctions in exchange for a reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. Trump argued that the proposal wasn’t acceptable, and top administration officials contended that it asked the US to make too many concessions up front. “I have to say that althoug...
