 Governor Alex Otti Highlights How Kidnappers, Bandits Were Dislodged from Abia Communities in Abia Third Anniversary Speech Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has disclosed that his administration inherited a security crisis in which kidnappers, armed robbers, and other criminal gangs held several communities hostage before being dislodged through sustained operations. Speaking during his third anniversary celebration at the Umuahia Township Stadium on Friday, Governor Otti revealed that bandits had established camps inside forests across the state, from where they launched attacks on innocent residents, causing panic and displacement. “Security was a major challenge in the state three years ago. Several communities were held hostage as kidnappers, armed robbers, and other criminal groups set up camps in the forests from where they launched sporadic attacks on innocent Abians,” Otti said.  One killed, three injured, including 13-year-old, in Paterson, New Jersey mass shooting

 One person was killed and three others, including a 13-year-old, were injured in a mass shooting Saturday evening in Paterson, New Jersey, according to a city official. The gunfire erupted at the intersection of East 29th Street and 10th Avenue, sending people running for safety as chaos unfolded in the street. Surveillance video captured the aftermath, showing bystanders calling for help as multiple victims lay on the ground, with one person motionless and another struggling to stand.

Witnesses described hearing a rapid burst of gunfire, with some reporting what sounded like more than a dozen shots. Panic quickly spread as people rushed to assist the wounded, with shouting and cries heard in the area. City officials said most of the victims are believed to be in their 20s, in addition to the injured teenager, who remains hospitalized along with the two other survivors. Authorities are still working to determine what led to the shooting, including whether it was targeted or gang-related, as the investigation continues in an area officials say has seen recurring violence.
