 A Limpopo man who stabbed his girlfriend to death in front of his own mother will spend the next 20 years in prison. The Polokwane High Court sentenced 48 year old Nathaniel Molatelo Mokgehle from Sekonye Village in the Botlokwa policing area for the murder of his girlfriend, 41 year old Mokgadi Julia Mohlaela. The court heard he chased her out of the house and continued stabbing her until she collapsed and died. Mokgehle also received six months for malicious damage to property. The sentence will run at the same time as the 20 year murder sentence. Evidence presented in court showed the victim had previously opened a malicious damage to property case against him. He was still attending court for that case when the murder happened. The attack happened on 08 June 2025 around 16:00 at his mother’s home in Sekonye Village. COMMONWEALTH APPOINTS EX-PRESIDENT GOODLUCK,TO RESOLVE THE CRISIS IN ZANZIBAR ISLAND.

                           The Commonwealth has appointed former President Goodluck Jonathan to lead the charge for the resolution of the political stalemate in the semi-independent Island of Zanzibar.Jonathan's new appointment as Commonwealth Special representative is seen as an affirmation of the former President's towering status as the moral face of democracy and transparent polling in Africa,The new appointment was conveyed to Jonathan last week in a letter sent to him by the Commonwealth Secretary General,Mr Kamalesh Sharma.Goodluck Jonathan's appointment followed his highly acclaimed leadership of the Commonwealth Observer Group {COG} to last months's Tanzania general election.After the October 25 general election which produced John Magufuli as the new President of Tanzania,the Jonathan led COG and other international observers had endorsed the polling processes as credible.Now John has been drafted to quell the tension brewing on the Island of Zanzibar,following the nullification of the Presidential election results by the local electoral body,citing irregularities.International observers have continued to dispute the decision,on the grounds that both the voting and counting processes were held in an atmosphere of peace.One more photo below.
