 PRESS RELEASE NATIONWIDE PROTEST: NPF CAUTIONS AGAINST ILL-TIMED PROTEST ACROSS THE COUNTRY The Nigeria Police Force has read in the news that a group called  “Take it Back Movement” is planning a protest across various states of the Federation, most especially the Federal Capital Territory, scheduled to hold on Monday 7th April, 2025, a day earmarked by the Federal Government as the National Police Day, to celebrate the resilience and dedication of officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force. APPEAL COURT NULLIFIED THE ENTIRE GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION,HELD IN AKWA IBOM STATE,TODAY

                                         Today friday it was reported that an Appeal Court has nullified the entire governorship election held in Akwa Ibom state on 11 April,purportedly won by the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party,Governor Udom Emmanuel.The decision was handed over this afternoon in the cross appeal filed by the candidate of the APC,Umana Okon Umana and the appeal by Emmanuel.The court ordered for a fresh election in 90 days.The Governorship election tribunal had initially cancelled the election in 18 of the councils in the state and called for a re-run but the APC felt dissatisfied and filed an appeal,praying for the cancellation of the entire poll.One more photo below.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up. The Appellant is an actor. He acted in a script that he was invited to act by his colleague (PW1), Damilola Adekoya,” he said.
