The warning was contained in a public notice dated Sept. 28, 2026, with Ref. No. PS/ML/2026/CR/VOL.II/028 and signed by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Nkeiru Mokwe, for the Commissioner. The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of LAWMA, Dr Muyiwa Gbadegesin, said that the enforcement operation was part of the Authority’s sustained efforts to stop the use of unauthorised locations for waste disposal and strengthen compliance with approved waste management practices across the State.  ‘Nothing to show after 24 years in power’, Wike knocks Amaechi Minister of the Federal Capital Territory FCT, Nyesom Wike, has said his predecessor, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, has nothing to show for 24 years as Speaker, Governor and Minister. He challenged the people of Evo Kingdom in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State to point to any tangible development or political empowerment Amaechi attracted to their land.  Abia govt seals piggery farm, residential building for alleged environmental pollution The Abia State Environmental Protection Agency, ASEPA, has sealed a piggery farm operating at Ipupe, Umuahia South LGA of the State, with a fine of N2.5m, for its alleged involvement in practices that could spark a disease outbreak. ASEPA also sealed a three-storey building at Area 5, Agbama Housing Estate in Umuahia South LGA, after the occupants allegedly discharged evacuated excreta into public drains. The General Manager of the Abia State Environmental Protection Agency, ASEPA, Ogbonnaya Okereke, who carried out the sealing exercises, said the actions of the offenders contravened  the basic environmental laws of Abia State. Ogbonnaya, who was represented by ASEPA’s Head of Monitoring, Okpara Macaulay, said an environmental Court sitting in Umuahia authorised the sealing of the compounds.  Ethiopia government forces retake airport in Tigray's capital, sources say Ethiopia's federal military has recaptured the main airport in the capital of the northern Tigray region, three sources said on Saturday, dealing a major ​setback to an opposition alliance in its stronghold. Clashes pitting a rebel alliance led ‌by Tigray's ruling party against the government and its allied forces broke out in northern Ethiopia last week, in the most serious escalation of violence since a 2020-2022 civil war. Troops from the Ethiopian National Defence Forces had ​regained control of Alula Aba Nega Airport in Tigray's capital Mekelle, one source with knowledge of events in the city and a humanitarian source told Reuters. Mekelle's airport, which is around 10 km (6 miles) from the centre of the city, was ​one of three airports in the region that were seized by the ​opposition forces ⁠at the start of the fighting on September 23.

 An Ohio woman has filed a lawsuit after a huge surgical mistake leaves her, literally, with no leg to stand on. 74-year-old Sharon Jacks had suffered from a chronic and painful ulcer on her left leg. She also had skin cancer affecting the same leg. After a great deal of soul searching, and carefully weighing the pros against the con's, Sharon made a life changing decision. She was going to have her left leg amputated from the knee down. She had concluded that a short amount of painful recovery and learning to walk with a prosthetic leg was favorable over constant and unimaginable pain.  With the big decision made, Janet felt a sense of relief and hope for the future. She had served in the U.S. Army and is very much a woman of action. After attempting to manage an untenable medical condition, long term, she felt she was moving in the correct direction.
