OVER 25 MILLION PHONES STOLEN IN ONE YEAR- FG. (PHOTO).

 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. Global Affairs Magazine is set for its maiden ‘Award of Excellence for outstanding humanitarian works'.


The award ceremony is billed to hold on the 16th of July 2022 at The Civic Centre located at Ozumba Mbadiwe Road, Victoria Island, Lagos. Red carpet starts by 4pm.


The award ceremony, according to the organizers, is designed to honor Nigerians for their commendable hard work in various aspects of life.


The Chairman of the award Committee Dr. Tee Mac Omatshola hinted newsmen at the press conference organised by Global Affairs Magazine Award Committee, that the event is going to reward Nigerians home and abroad who are deserving of the Iconic honor.


In his speech he listed the award categories to include, “Lifetime achievements Awards and Award of Excellence for humanitarian works".


His speech reads in part;


"Global Affairs Magazine Awards, GAMA, is an initiation of Global Affairs Magazine.

The awards in its entirety celebrates individuals and Bodies whom have over the

years supported life changing causes, specially in the areas of health

and most prominently the less privileged, physically challenged and children with special needs as well as the teeming youth population. The Awards mostly through research and recommendation will honour both individuals and Bodies (corporate, governmental and non-governmental).


Our vision is to be a platform that promotes, reward and celebrate human excellence in the care of mankind for its kind.


Our mission is to continually search and honor individuals and bodies that cares for all citizens of mankind especially children and youths in target community or sector.

The chairman of Global Affairs Magazine Rev. Amb. Samuel Ikpea urged well-meaning Nigerians to touch lives with their resources, and give the less endowed a sense of belonging.

He noted that Global Affairs Magazine has been supporting Cerebral Palsy children through it foundation.



"It is imperative for highly-placed persons to touch lives with their resources, and give the less endowed a sense of belonging."


Also to receive awards, according to the Convener Regina Adudu Robinson, are outstanding individuals across Nigeria who have contributed to the development of the country through humanitarian services, empowerment of the masses, community development and service delivery in various works of life.


Speaking with journalists the convener of the award postulates that highlights of the event includes, the launching of Global Affairs Magazine, presentation of awards to well deserving personalities with credible and enviable track records, lectures, unveiling of GAM FOUNDATON. A foundation that will go a long way to sensitize parents to take care of the boy child so as for them to grow up and become responsible, good leaders who forbids girls molestation and criminalities in general.
