We Will Continue To Champion Bottom-Top Approach To Development -Soludo
Anambra state Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo says his administration will continue to champion bottom-top approach in order to advance the local government system as the only panacea to rounded development in the state.
Governor Soludo stated this when he inaugurated the Transition Committee Chairmen of the twenty-one local government council areas who were recently confirmed by the state House of Assembly.
The event was held at the Government House, Awka.
The Transition Committee Chairmen who have a three month tenure are: Prince Chibueze Ofobuike for Aguata,
Dr. Anselm Onuora for Anambra East, Mr Felix Ikechi for Anambra West, Mr Gerald Ikechukwu Ozo for Anaocha and Mr Emmanuel Ucheze for Awka North Local government area.
Others include: Mr ThankGod Aniago for Awka South, Hon. Livinus Onyenwe for Ayamelum, Mr Augustine Onyemaobi Nonyelum for Dunukofia, Mr James Chimezie Obi for Ekwusigo and Mr Chucks Brown Igboanua for Idemili North.
While Idemili South Local government area has Mrs Immaculata Amaka Obi, Ihiala has Mr Kingsley Obi as the new Chairman, while Mr. Clems Aguiyi is for Njikoka.
Nnewi North has Mr Mbazuluike Iloka as its Chairman, Nnewi South has Mr Ikenna Aniagbaoso, Mr Charles Ozoma is for Onitsha North , Onitsha South LG is Mr Emeka Orji, Orumba North has Engr Ogochukwu Ekwueme, Orumba South has Mr Sunday Uchendu, Oyi has Mr Emmanuel Nweke and Ogbaru council has Mr Paschal Chidiebere Aniegbuna as its Chairman.
Recall that on Friday, July, 29, 2022, Anambra State House of Asssembly screened and confirmed the appointment of 21 persons nominated by the governor as Chairmen, Local Government Transition Committees in line with section 208 of the Local government law.
Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, Deputy Speaker of the state Assembly, Dr. Paschal Agbodike, Secretary to the state government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Mr. Collins Nwabunwanne, among others, witnessed the event.
