Rivers State governor, Siminalayi Fubara says reconstruction work will commence immediately on the abandoned Isaka Community Landing Jetty.
Governor Fubara said he has already directed the release funds so that the work can be accomplished within weeks.
The governor gave the assurance when he embarked on an inspection tour on Monday evening to the Witt- and-Butch end in Port Harcourt, where boats take-off to Isaka main Town in Okrika Local Government Area.
Governor Fubara who was accompanied by Chief Ibibia Walter, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was greeted by cheers from travelers and people doing business in the area.
Recall that two days ago, precisely on Saturday, 2nd March, 2024, during the reception organised by Okrika Divisional Council of Chiefs and people of Okrika to honour King Ateke Michael Tom, governor Fubara promised to reconstruct the jetty.
