 U.S Finalizes $20,000 Visa Bond Policy Affecting Nigeria and 49 Other Nations The United States government has officially formalized its visa bond policy, making it a permanent measure that could require travelers from 50 designated countries, including Nigeria, to pay a refundable bond of up to $20,000 before receiving certain visas. First introduced as a pilot scheme in 2025, the policy targets applicants seeking B1 and B2 visas, which are designated for business and tourism. According to the U.S. Department of State, the initiative is designed to bolster compliance with local immigration laws and drastically reduce visa overstay rates. President Bola Tinubu congratulates Ms. Folake Akindele on the occasion of her 50th birthday.


Ms. Akindele is the founder and creative director of Tiffany Amber, a pioneering fashion house established in 1998. Through its unique fusion of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary style, the brand has not only redefined African fashion but has also promoted the rich tapestry of Nigeria's heritage to the world.


President Tinubu celebrates the top fashion designer, extolling her commitment to the craft, resilience, creativity, and peerless contributions to the fashion industry.


The President also congratulates Tiffany Amber Nigeria as it marks its 25th anniversary while wishing its founder, Ms. Akindele, many more prosperous years in her endeavour to keep African fashion on the map.
