 TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms.  Nasarawa Govt Donates ₦60m To Lafia Market Fire Victims

Nasarawa State Government has donated the sum of ₦60 million to the victims of recent fire outbreak that engulfed a section of Lafia Modern Market and destroyed properties worth millions of naira. 


Governor Abdullahi Sule announced the donation on Thursday at a meeting with a delegation of the state's Marketers' Association. 


The members of the Committee constituted to investigate the cause of the inferno were also part of the meeting held at the Government House, Lafia. 


Governor Sule who commiserated with the marketers over the devastating incident insisted that measures must be put in place to avoid reoccurrence. 


The Committee had earlier recommended the sum of ₦49 million to the State Government to support the fire victims.
