 Australia Floods: 82-Year-Old Woman Found Dead in Queensland


An 82-year-old woman has been confirmed dead in the ongoing floods devastating communities in northern Queensland, Australia.


According to police, her body was discovered in a cane paddock on Tuesday. She was last seen inside a two-story house on Monday evening, a nearby resident reported.


This comes just two days after a 63-year-old woman lost her life when a rescue boat capsized in Ingham floodwaters.


Northern Queensland has been inundated with nearly two meters of rainfall since Saturday, and the Bureau of Meteorology has warned of potential severe thunderstorms and more localized flooding in affected areas.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
