 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country.  Kebbi Gov Nasir Idris Dismisses Defection Rumours, Reaffirms Loyalty to APC


Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has firmly denied rumours of his planned defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing them as “ridiculously malicious” and driven by “political comedians.”


In a statement on Sunday, Idris, popularly known as Kauran Gwandu, reiterated his commitment to the APC, declaring, “I am made in APC, by APC, and for APC,” and vowed to be “the last man standing” in the party.


Reacting to social media claims linking him to a coalition allegedly led by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Idris stressed his loyalty to President Bola Tinubu’s vision and his dedication to delivering good governance in Kebbi.


The governor, through his Chief Press Secretary, Ahmed Idris, dismissed the defection rumours as baseless, reaffirming Kebbi State’s status as an APC stronghold and pledging unwavering service to the people.
