 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken.  NBA Awka Branch Ends 2025 Bar Week With Historic Thanksgiving

 ...As Orakwe Appreciates Soludo's Development Policies

The Nigerian Bar Association, Awka Branch has ended its week with a mass celebration attended by its members at the St.Patrick's Cathedral, Awka.


The chairman of the association, Bona Orakwe (Esq) in a press statement in Awka after the celebration,noted with satisfaction the eventful outing of the bar which exposed members to the nitty-gritty and activities that promoted the legal practice and some social activities.


The legal expert expects its members to leverage on the activities of the bar to improve their jurisprudence competences. He used the forum to eulogize Governor Chukwuma Soludo as a leader who has moved Anambra State to the next level.


According to him, Soludo's administration has put in place structures addressing the socio-economic needs of the state residents.


On his part, the Chairman Planning Committee of the NBA week,Philip Chukwudebelu(Esq) described the bar week for the year as a success story with activities that addressed the needs of the lawyers at the bar.


 Chukwudebelu P.I. expects lawyers to take advantage of the experience garnered during the week to update their legal competence.


A member of the association, Cyril Eziamaka ( Esq) appreciated the success of the  bar week and the efforts of the Barrister Orakwe led Awka bar executive to sustain the activities of the bar.

He announced the absence of the activities of the Appeal Court in Awka due to some logistic hitches.


The legal expert urged the Governor Soludo led administration to wade into the lacuna with a view to.providing the necessary logistics that will assist the court to function.


He cautioned against the consequences of the absence of operations at the Appeal Court which tantamounts to denial of justice for litigants seeking for justice.
