 NUT Protest : Wike Warns Against Politicising Insecurity The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has warned against politicising insecurity amid protests by the Nigeria Union of Teachers, FCT wing, over the killing and abduction of school staff and children in Oyo State. Teachers stormed the FCTA Secretariat in Abuja to condemn the killing of Michael Oyedokun and to demand the release of abducted pupils and teachers from Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle in Oriire Local Government Area. The FCT minister addressed the protesters on Tuesday, saying the federal government is on its toes working to secure the rescue of the schoolchildren and their teachers. Wike urged protesters to avoid turning the tragedy into a political issue and to give security efforts time to produce results.  YOUNG BENUE GIRL STABBED TO DEATH BY SUSPECTED ROBBERS IN LAGOS

A young woman from Benue State, identified as Faith, was tragically stabbed to death by suspected robbers on Friday, June 27, along Mobile Road in the Ajah area of Lagos State.


Faith, who hailed from Itakpa Ito in Obi Local Government Area of Benue State, had reportedly visited her boyfriend earlier that day and was returning home when the incident occurred.


According to eyewitnesses, she was accosted by a group of men who attempted to snatch her phone and handbag. A struggle reportedly ensued, during which one of the assailants stabbed her in the neck with a sharp object, believed to be a knife.


She was left bleeding by the roadside and was later found lifeless by passersby, who alerted security operatives. Her remains have since been deposited in a nearby mortuary.


As of the time of filing this report, the Lagos State Police Command has not issued an official statement on the incident, though sources say investigations are ongoing to track down and apprehend those responsible for the gruesome attack.
