 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken.  YOUNG BENUE GIRL STABBED TO DEATH BY SUSPECTED ROBBERS IN LAGOS

A young woman from Benue State, identified as Faith, was tragically stabbed to death by suspected robbers on Friday, June 27, along Mobile Road in the Ajah area of Lagos State.


Faith, who hailed from Itakpa Ito in Obi Local Government Area of Benue State, had reportedly visited her boyfriend earlier that day and was returning home when the incident occurred.


According to eyewitnesses, she was accosted by a group of men who attempted to snatch her phone and handbag. A struggle reportedly ensued, during which one of the assailants stabbed her in the neck with a sharp object, believed to be a knife.


She was left bleeding by the roadside and was later found lifeless by passersby, who alerted security operatives. Her remains have since been deposited in a nearby mortuary.


As of the time of filing this report, the Lagos State Police Command has not issued an official statement on the incident, though sources say investigations are ongoing to track down and apprehend those responsible for the gruesome attack.
