 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country.  SEVERAL INJURED IN BENUE ROAD CRASH NEAR TYEKU

Several persons were injured on Thursday following a road traffic accident near Tyeku on the Tse-Kucha–Gboko road in Benue State.


Eyewitnesses said the crash occurred in the afternoon when a vehicle reportedly veered off the road and overturned, triggering an immediate response from residents and passers-by who rushed to rescue the victims.


Photos shared on social media showed the damaged vehicle lying on its side in a ditch, while community members were seen assisting the injured and administering first aid at the scene.


No death was reported as of the time of filing this report, though some of the victims were said to have sustained serious injuries and were rushed to nearby health facilities for treatment.


The cause of the accident and the exact number of injured persons could not be immediately confirmed, as authorities were yet to issue an official statement.


The incident has renewed concerns over road safety on the busy Tse-Kucha–Gboko axis, particularly during the festive season when traffic volume is usually high.
