Cuba introduces sweeping free-market reforms to decentralize state-run economy    Cuba has introduced a package of 176 free-market measures, which observers are calling the most sweeping economic overhaul of the island’s communist system since the Cuban Revolution. Pirate-themed boat carrying nearly 150 people sinks off Turkey coast, passengers jump into Mediterranean Sea

A pirate-themed tour boat carrying nearly 150 passengers, including children, sank Friday off the coast of Turkey, forcing everyone on board to jump into the Mediterranean Sea as the vessel took on water and rapidly went under. The ship, identified as the “Big Boss Diamond,” was departing on a sightseeing cruise when it began sinking, eventually submerging completely about an hour after the incident began.

All passengers were able to safely make it back to shore, and no injuries were reported. At least 20 children were among those on board, along with British tourists, according to reports. Video from the scene appears to show the vessel tipping sharply to one side before sinking quickly.

The cause of the incident remains unclear, though some passengers reportedly described possible engine failure and fire. The boat operator has said it plans to continue tours using another vessel. The ship had been promoted as the country’s largest pirate-themed “family party boat,” featuring entertainment areas for children and leisure spaces for adults.
