OPERATION FANSAN  YAMMA:TROOPS NEUTRALISE TERRORIST, RESCUE KIDNAP VICTIMS IN SOKOTO AND ZAMFARA STATES Troops of Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA (JTF NW OPFY), recorded fresh successes in separate operations conducted on 26 September 2026, neutralising a terrorist, recovering an AK-47 rifle and ammunition, and rescuing six attempted kidnap victims in Sokoto and Zamfara States. In Sokoto State, on 26 September 2026, troops of Sector 2 acted on credible intelligence indicating the presence of a suspected terrorist camp at Gudu Local Government Area, and moved swiftly to assault the location. During the operation, troops made contact with an isolated terrorist and neutralised him. Items recovered from the encounter include one AK-47 rifle, ammunition, a foreign military uniform, and various tools and clothing.
