 Homeless man with ‘very sweet soul’ dies weeks after teens pummel him in despicable gas station attack A group of heartless teens at an Oklahoma City gas station were caught on camera viciously battering a homeless man, who later died in the hospital, sparking outrage from his family and the community. Brandon Liggons’ family said he died as a direct result of the delinquents’ despicable attack — although the cause of his death was due to pneumonia — and are demanding they be held accountable.  Liggons, 42, was sitting outside a metro gas station when he was swarmed and pummeled by three teens, according to security video obtained by KFOR and circulating online.  They shoved him to the ground and began kicking and punching him. He was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries including a brain bleed, his cousin Grail Pendarvis, 54, told the outlet. OPERATION FANSAN  YAMMA:TROOPS NEUTRALISE TERRORIST, RESCUE KIDNAP VICTIMS IN SOKOTO AND ZAMFARA STATES

Troops of Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA (JTF NW OPFY), recorded fresh successes in separate operations conducted on 26 September 2026, neutralising a terrorist, recovering an AK-47 rifle and ammunition, and rescuing six attempted kidnap victims in Sokoto and Zamfara States.

In Sokoto State, on 26 September 2026, troops of Sector 2 acted on credible intelligence indicating the presence of a suspected terrorist camp at Gudu Local Government Area, and moved swiftly to assault the location. During the operation, troops made contact with an isolated terrorist and neutralised him. Items recovered from the encounter include one AK-47 rifle, ammunition, a foreign military uniform, and various tools and clothing.

Similarly, in Zamfara State, on the evening of the same day, troops of Sector 2 responded promptly to information regarding an attempted kidnap of members of the Sarkin Samari’s family by terrorists in Tsafe Local Government Area. On arrival at the scene, troops engaged the terrorists with effective fire, forcing them to withdraw towards nearby bushes. In the course of the operation, six kidnap victims were successfully rescued and taken to a place of safety, pending reunification with their families. 

These successes underscore the resolve and professionalism of JTF NW OPFY troops in safeguarding lives and property across the North West.

The general public are enjoined to continue supporting troops with credible and timely information on the activities of terrorists and other criminal elements within their communities.
