  Putin meets S. Africa's Ramaphosa in India Russian President Vladimir Putin met with his South African counterpart, Cyril Ramaphosa, at the sidelines of the BRICS Summit in India on Friday. The two leaders will discuss bilateral cooperation and issues of international significance. President Cyril Ramaphosa called on BRICS governments and business communities to use the grouping as a platform to deepen investment and trade, reshape existing economic patterns and transform the economies of countries across the Global South. “We cannot accept a future where Africa supplies the minerals on which the next generation of industries depends, while value addition and manufacturing take place elsewhere. “If we are to change where value is created, we must also change where investment is directed.  FIRST LADY’S VISIT TO ANAMBRA: CP NNANNA COMMENDS SECURITY PERSONNEL FOR SEAMLESS COORDINATION, PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT


The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, psc, mnips, has commended officers and men of the Command and personnel of sister security agencies for the high level of operational coordination, vigilance and professionalism that ensured the peaceful and successful visit of the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, to Anambra State today, 10th September 2026.


The Commissioner noted that the successful security arrangements were the outcome of deliberate inter-agency collaboration, effective deployment, timely information-sharing and disciplined execution of operational responsibilities by all participating security and safety agencies.


CP Nnanna particularly commended the personnel on the ground for maintaining a high level of alertness, professionalism and coordination throughout the exercise, stressing that the seamless interface among the various agencies was critical to ensuring the safety of the dignitary, other participants and the general public.


He also appreciated the Government and people of Anambra State, community leaders and other stakeholders for their cooperation and orderly conduct, which further contributed to the peaceful outcome of the visit.


The Commissioner assured Ndi Anambra that the Command will sustain this level of operational synergy and proactive security coordination, while continuously strengthening intelligence-led policing, inter-agency cooperation and strategic deployment to safeguard lives, property and critical public engagements across the State.
