 NAF COMPLETES LOCAL REASSEMBLY OF FIRST TWO H125 HELICOPTERS IN LAGOS The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has successfully completed the local reassembly of its first two H125 helicopters at NAF Base Ikeja, Lagos, following their delivery by Airbus. Conducted with the support of Airbus technical personnel, the exercise marks an important milestone in strengthening technical collaboration, facilitating knowledge transfer and enhancing NAF personnel’s practical exposure to the support and maintenance of modern rotary-wing platforms. The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, described the development as a positive step towards strengthening the NAF’s technical and operational capacity.  OPERATION FANSAN YAMMA TROOPS AVERT MAJOR KIDNAP ATTEMPT IN ZAMFARA RESCUE 41 TRAVELERS


Troops of Sector 2 Operation FANSAN YAMMA in a prompt and decisive action have rescued 41 travelers who were abducted after their vehicle broke down along a major highway in Tsafe Local Government Area, Zamfara State. 


Preliminary reports indicated that the commercial vehicle traveling from Senegal to Kano State, developed a mechanical fault along the highway. Accordingly, bandits took advantage of the situation to target the stranded vehicle and attempted to move the occupants into the surrounding area.


Acting on the actionable intelligence, troops swiftly mobilized to the scene. Upon arrival, security forces engaged the armed group with superior firepower, forcing them to abandon the hostages and flee into nearby farmlands. 


All 41 victims, comprising 24 males, 10 females, and 7 children,were successfully rescued unharmed. The rescued individuals are currently receiving necessary support and will be reunited with their families and transit authorities shortly. Troops are currently maintaining  an active presence in the area to ensure the safety of travelers and apprehend the fleeing suspects.
