SAD! Unknown Gunmen Abducts Sarkin Gurku, Wife  ***  Unknown gunmen have abducted the Sarkin Gurku, in the Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, HRH Alhaji Jibril Mamman Waziri.  Waziri, a First-Class monarch was abducted alongside his wife, Hajiya Sa'adatu and taken to unknown destination.  Residents of the community who confirmed the unfortunate incident said it occurred on Sunday night.  They were said to be abducted at their residence in Gurku by the yet-to-be identified gunmen who shot sporadically before whisking them away.  Reacting, the Chairman of Karu Local Government Council, Mr James Thomas who also confirmed the incident said security operatives have been deployed to rescue them from their abductors.  Thomas in a statement issued by his media aide, Danbaba Uba Magaji also assured residents that measures are being put in place to address the security challenges bedeviling the area.  

Police recover woman’s corpse in ex-lover’s house, arrest suspect The Ondo State Police Command has arrested a 45-year-old man, Bankole Oginni, following the death of a woman who was said to be his ex-lover.  According to the police, the 45-year-old woman, (whose identity had not been revealed by the police) was found dead in the house of the suspect while some parts of her body had been removed.  The police added that the deceased’s daughter reported the matter after seeing the lifeless body of her mother tied with a rope and some parts of her body removed in the suspect’s house located at the Oke Aro area of Akure, the state capital, on Sunday.  The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami, who confirmed the incident, stated that the remains of the deceased had been deposited at a morgue while the investigation had commenced.  Ondo trader dies after alleged police torture  She said, “A lady reported at the station that her mother’s ex-love...

President Bola Tinubu had removed Shetty from Kano State as a ministerial nominee that was billed for screening. Abia Earmarks 160 Buildings for Demolition Abia State government has embarked on sensitisation of communities and property owners to prepare them to make the necessary sacrifices for the development of Umuahia, the capital city. As part of his development agenda, Governor Alex Otti had announced the expansion of the main entry road leading into Umuahia from the Enugu- Port Harcourt expressway. He said Ossah road, which is presently a dualised entry from Abia Tower junction off the expressway into Umuahia, would be expanded to six lanes. To make this possible, over 160 properties have been penciled down for demolition while some ancestral lands would also go into the road expansion project.
