 BAUCHI STATE POLICE COMMAND PRESS RELEASE ARREST AND RECOVERY: POLICE NAB SUSPECTED MOTORCYCLE THIEF, RECOVER STOLEN HAOJUE IN GWALLAMEJI In a demonstration of its commitment to proactive policing and swift response to crime, the Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a suspected motorcycle thief and recovered a stolen Haojue motorcycle in the Gwallameji area. Acting on routine patrol directives, operatives of E Division, Yelwa, intercepted one Bashir Usman, a 19-year-old male resident of Fada, at approximately 0552 hours on 16th May 2026. The suspect was found in possession of an unregistered red Haojue motorcycle. Upon preliminary interrogation, Usman confessed to stealing the motorcycle from a student lodge within Gwallameji.  Consequently, the Command has launched a detailed investigation to identify and trace the rightful owner.  Launch of the CBN Foreign Exchange Manual (4th Edition) The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Olayemi Cardoso, has unveiled the 4th Edition of the CBN Foreign Exchange Manual, a major step towards strengthening transparency, consistency, and efficiency in Nigeria’s foreign exchange market. Effective June 1, 2026, the revised Manual aligns with international best practices and reflects the CBN’s commitment to modernising FX administration, reinforcing market confidence, and strengthening Nigeria’s macroeconomic foundations. Developed through extensive stakeholder consultations and rigorous technical review, the Manual will be provided free of charge to authorised dealers to support seamless implementation and compliance. Governor Cardoso also emphasised the importance of professionalism, accountability, fairness, and strong monitoring frameworks in sustaining the credibility and stability of Nigeria’s foreign exchange market.  Governor Abba Warns Pilgrims to Shun Vices at Holy Land, Promises Them Exceptional Treatment  The Kano state Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has warned the pilgrims to shun any form of vices at the Holy Land and be good ambassadors of Kano State. He made the remarks while addressing the 560 intending pilgrims ready to be airlifted to Saudi Arabia for this year’s Hajj, 2026. This was contained in a press statement issued by Mustapha Muhammad, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor.
