 AU Commission Chairperson Arrives in Bamako to Revive Dialogue With Mali Mahmoud Ali Youssouf arrived for a two-day official visit, according to an AU statement. He was welcomed by Mali’s Foreign Minister Abdoulaye Diop and is also expected to meet with President Assimi Goïta, it said, Sputnik reported. The visit comes as Mali remains suspended from AU activities since June 2021. The AU has reaffirmed its support for Mali’s sovereignty and territorial integrity while proposing increased assistance to the security sector.

THE U.S GOVT,TO GRANT 18MONTHS STAY,& WORK PERMITS TO PEOPLE FROM EBOLA HIT COUNTRIES FROM TODAY.

           According to the United States Government,the Department of Homeland Security will grant temporary protection status to people from the three West African countries most affected by Ebola who are currently residing in the United States.People from Liberia,Guinea and Sierra Leone in the United States as of today thursday may apply for protection from deportation,as well as for work permits,for 18 months.After 18 months,the secretary of Homeland security will assess whether the protection should be extended,based on the level of the Ebola epidemic in West Africa.In order to prevent a mass migration from West Africa to the United States,nationals from these countries who arrived after thursday will not be eligible for protected status.U.S citizenship and immigration services officials estimate that 8,000 people will be eligible to apply.One more picture below.
