TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms. The EFCC,today wednesday June 15,2016,arraigned Henry Chinedu Ojoko,Najuke Lucky O,Ogba Ikechukwu Patrick,Obieze Augustine D. and Obodo Franca Nbefore Justice F.N Azing of the High Court of Delta State,Asaba on a 5 count charge bordering on Conspiracy,Stealing,and Fraudulent diversion of the sum of N75,000,000 {Seventy Five Million Naira} Property of Delta State Internally Generated Revenue {IGR}.It was alleged that the principal suspect and his accomplices fraudulently diverted cash and cheques worth several millions of naira belonging to Delta State Government IGR meant to be paid into Delta State Government IGR Account and Delta State Sports Commission Cooperative Society's account which the accused persons converted to their personal use.More photos below.
