NUT Protest : Wike Warns Against Politicising Insecurity The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has warned against politicising insecurity amid protests by the Nigeria Union of Teachers, FCT wing, over the killing and abduction of school staff and children in Oyo State. Teachers stormed the FCTA Secretariat in Abuja to condemn the killing of Michael Oyedokun and to demand the release of abducted pupils and teachers from Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle in Oriire Local Government Area. The FCT minister addressed the protesters on Tuesday, saying the federal government is on its toes working to secure the rescue of the schoolchildren and their teachers. Wike urged protesters to avoid turning the tragedy into a political issue and to give security efforts time to produce results. The EFCC,today wednesday June 15,2016,arraigned Henry Chinedu Ojoko,Najuke Lucky O,Ogba Ikechukwu Patrick,Obieze Augustine D. and Obodo Franca Nbefore Justice F.N Azing of the High Court of Delta State,Asaba on a 5 count charge bordering on Conspiracy,Stealing,and Fraudulent diversion of the sum of N75,000,000 {Seventy Five Million Naira} Property of Delta State Internally Generated Revenue {IGR}.It was alleged that the principal suspect and his accomplices fraudulently diverted cash and cheques worth several millions of naira belonging to Delta State Government IGR meant to be paid into Delta State Government IGR Account and Delta State Sports Commission Cooperative Society's account which the accused persons converted to their personal use.More photos below.
