 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken. IGP CALLS FOR CALM TODAY & ASSURED JUSTICE MUST BE SERVED FOR THE POLICE OFFICER KILLED BY SARS IN BAYELSA.

                           Folowing the unfortunate death of a Police officer,ASP Mathew Akpos,allgedly killed by operatives of the State Command Special Anti-Robbry Squard {SARS},earlier this month,and ensuring protests by aggrieved citizens,the Inspector General of Police,IGP Solomon E. Arase,fdc,NPM,has called for calm as the Police authorities has waded into the matter to ensure that justice is served.Upon the receipt of the information,the IGP immediately directed that the matter be investigated to ensure justice is served.Meanwhile,all the Policemen linked with the killing of the officer have been arrested,detained and are presently undergoing investigation,for subsequent prosecution.The IGP called on the family and friends of the deceases officer to remain calm and patient as the Police authority will not relent in their efforts to ensure professionalism is carrying out their constitutional assignment.-ACP Olabisi Kolawole,Force Public Relations Officer,Force Headquarters,Abuja.
