 Nigeria's Defence Minister Summons Service Chiefs Amid Surge in Attacks on Military Bases Nigeria's Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (Rtd), has urgently summoned the nation's top military leaders to a high-level meeting at the Ministry of Defence headquarters in Abuja. The session addresses the escalating attacks targeting military installations, particularly in the North East region. The meeting includes key figures such as: - Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede - Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu - Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke - Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abass - Representatives from the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) The summons comes in response to recent deadly assaults by terrorists on military bases in the North East. OSCAR PISTORIUS,REMOVED HIS PROSTHETIC LIMBS IN COURT TODAY AT HIS SENTENCING HEARING.{PHOTOS].

                   South African Paralympian chapioon Oscar Pistorius,removed his prosthetic limbs today and  walked  on his stumps around the courtroom at his sentencing hearing today.His defence lawyer wanted to show how vulnerable he was when he shot his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp through a door at his home in 2013.The court granted permission for the crime scene photos of Reeva to be made public.Oscars says he mistook Ms Steenkamp for an intruder.Pistorius will be sentenced on 6 July,2016.The double amputee faces a jail term of 15 years but it may be reduced due to time already spent in prison and mitigating factors.More photos below.
