  The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has dismissed a viral claim circulating on social media about the introduction of new ₦5,000 and ₦10,000 banknotes, labeling it as fake news. The claim, which included fabricated images of the supposed new denominations featuring Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe and Chief Obafemi Awolowo, falsely stated that the new notes would enter circulation from May 1, 2025. In a statement on its verified Facebook account, the CBN clarified that the content is not from the bank and directed the public to its official website, (www.cbn.gov.ng), for authentic information. The bank warned against spreading misinformation regarding monetary policies and urged Nigerians to rely only on official statements from its verified channels. PRESIDENT BUHARI WILL PRESENT THE 2017 BUDGET DECEMBER 14.

     Related image                According to source,President Muhammadu Buhari will present the 2017 budget proposal to the National Assembly on December 14.This is contained in a letter to the Senate and read by the President of the Senate,Dr Bukola Saraki,at the floor of the upper chamber on tuesday in Abuja.The letters reads: ''I crave the indulgence of the National Assembly to grant me the 10.00 hours on wednesday December 14,to formally address a joint session of the National Assembly on the 2017 budget proposal''. The president will also address the joint session on plan to get the country out of recession.''Please extend,Mr Senate President the assurances of my highest regards to the distinguished senators as I look forward to addressing the join session''.I just pray Nigeria gets better because the citizens are really suffering and things are becoming too expensive for the poor.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
