Abia Police Arrest Butcher for Stabbing Customer in Neck Over Meat Price Dispute The Abia State Police Command has arrested a butcher for allegedly stabbing his customer in the neck with a pair of scissors during a heated argument over the price of meat at Orie Ugba Market in Umuahia. Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Maureen Chinaka, confirmed the incident in a statement released on Monday, March 16, 2026. According to the police spokesperson, the altercation occurred on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the busy Orie Ugba Market when the victim and the suspect disagreed over the cost of meat. “The Abia State Police Command is aware of the incident that occurred at Orieugba Market on 14/03/2026, where a meat butcher stabbed his customer in the neck with a pair of scissors following a disagreement over the price of meat,” DSP Chinaka stated.
