  The Rivers State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has issued a 14-day ultimatum to the Rivers State Police Command, demanding a public apology for the assault on five journalists during a peaceful protest in Port Harcourt. Failure to comply, the union warned, would result in a statewide media blackout. In a statement jointly signed by Council Chairman Comrade Paul Bazia and Secretary Dr. Ijeoma Tubosia, the NUJ condemned the police actions as “unprovoked, barbaric, and inhuman,” calling for the immediate identification and prosecution of the officers involved. “The NUJ, as a watchdog of society, will not sit idly by while media practitioners are subjected to barbarism and brutality. NIGERIA TROOPS DISCOVERED GRAVES OF BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS THAT ESCAPED WITH GUN SHOT WOUNDS & DIED LATER.{PHOTOS}.

  Image may contain: outdoor and nature                                                   Troops of 119 Task Force Battalion of 7 Brigade Nigeria Army on Operation LAFIYA DOLE while on mop up and clearance patrol today,came across graves of Boko Haram terrorists that escaped with gun shot wounds and died after an encounter on 13th January 2017 and buried in shallow graves.Similarly,the troops recovered a 36 Hand Grenade and one 12.7 X 108mm round of ammunition concealed by the terrorists.The troops have continued their patrols by dominating the general area of Baga,Kangarwa and Dogonchikun with a view to intercepting fleeing Boko Haram terrorists.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
