 STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE  PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS MINISTER OF STATE FOR PETROLEUM RESOURCES (GAS) AS CO-CHAIRMAN OF NCDMB GOVERNING COUNCIL In line with his avowed commitment to establish a more efficient, targeted, and consistent approval process for unique oil and gas projects in the country, President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Mr. Ekperikpe Ekpo, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), as the Co-Chairman of the Governing Council of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB). This is also to further ensure effective oversight of the gas aspect of the nation's assets. The President remains committed to unlocking Nigeria's immense gas potential to stimulate industrial development, job creation, and sustainable economic growth. VETERAN YORUBA ACTOR OLUMIDE BAKARE,PASSED AWAY YESTERDAY AFTER A BRIEF ILLNESS.{PHOTOS}#RIP.

Image may contain: one or more people and indoor                                Veteran Nollywood actor,Olumide Bakare,has passed on after a failed battle with a heart and lung disease.His personal assistant,who said he died in the early hours of Saturday on his way to the hospital,announced his death.Mr Bakare has been sick for over a year and reports say aside from suffering low blood flow into the heart.there were also indications of a lung-related disease.He suffered cardiac arrest earlier in the year and was rushed to the emergency unit of University College Hospital Where he was placed in intensive care.Mufu Onifade,former president of the National Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners {NANTAP},has confirmed his death in a statement.''He had a successful surgery and after the surgery,he talked to people and told them he was fine.But two hours later,he passed on.It is very painful because I had actually been wishing him a quick recovery'',he said.When the news of his ill health broke in 2014,the actor denied being ill.Incidentally,the actor was also booked for a movie shoot in the U.S,putting to rest insinuations he went for medical checkup.May his soul rest in peace,AMEN.More photos below.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Namtira Bwala has threatened to file a lawsuit against the school authorities if her abusers are not punished within 48 hours. In a letter drafted by her lawyers, Deji Adeyanju and Co, Namtira asked the school authorities to immediately investigate and pronounce the stiffest punishments in the student’s rule book on Ms.Maryam Hassan, Miss Faliya, and nine other students who bullied her.
