 Court Jails Man Eight Years for  Impersonation in Lagos   Justice Akintayo Aluko of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Tuesday,  April 22, 2025, convicted and sentenced one Tobor Efeturi Godspower to eight years imprisonment for impersonation.   Godspower was arraigned by the Lagos Zonal Directorate 2 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on a two-count charge bordering on fraudulent impersonation and possession of fraudulent documents.   One of the counts reads; “That you, Tobor Efeturi Godspower, on or about the 24th day of October, 2024 in Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, fraudulently impersonated one 'Stephen Townsend', purporting to be a military man stationed in Syria, with intent to gain advantage for yourself and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 22(2)(b) of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc) Act, 2015.   The second count reads: “That you, ...

       Nollywood Actor Yul Edochie the Governorship Candidate of DPC in the last gubernatorial election in Anambra State and a Nollywood Star has joined the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA.
Yul who is the son of a Veteran actor Pet Edochie, defected to APGA this afternoon at Sir Alex Ekwueme Square, venue for the flag off of Sir Victor Umeh campaign for Anambra Central Senatorial District in the January 13th 2018 Election Re-run.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
