 Nigeria's Defence Minister Summons Service Chiefs Amid Surge in Attacks on Military Bases Nigeria's Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (Rtd), has urgently summoned the nation's top military leaders to a high-level meeting at the Ministry of Defence headquarters in Abuja. The session addresses the escalating attacks targeting military installations, particularly in the North East region. The meeting includes key figures such as: - Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede - Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu - Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke - Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abass - Representatives from the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) The summons comes in response to recent deadly assaults by terrorists on military bases in the North East. EFCC QUIZZES TWO SUSPECTED OIL THIEVES IN RIVERS STATE YESTERDAY.{PHOTOS}.

         The Economic and Fincnaicl Crimes Commission, EFCC, has commenced investigations of two suspected oil thieves, alongside a vessel: MT MARINA EXPRESS handed over to it on Thursday, 25 Januray, 2018 by the Nigerian Navy Ship: NNS PATHFINDER's Naval Base, Rumuolumeni, Port Harcourt, Rivers State. 
The suspects: Caleb Oluwaseun and Okuneye Taiwo were arrested by the Nigerian Navy Ship: NNS PATHFINDER's patrol team deployed for anti-crude oil theft and illegal bunkering operations around St Bartholomew River, Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The Vessel they were operating and which has now been confiscated, was a 110m Vessel laden with estimated 1,600 metric tons of products suspected to be stolen crude oil.The NNS Pathfinder’s Commander, Navy Captain Victor Choji, who handed over the suspects to the EFCC, said that they were operating the Oil Vessel without requisite approval by the Naval authority.The suspects would be charged to court soon.More photos below.
