 AVERTING BUILDING COLLAPSE: “SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING” - LSTML The General Manager of the Lagos State Materials Testing Laboratory (LSMTL), Engr. Olayinka Abdul, has charged Lagos Residents on the need to report any suspicious dilapidation to structures that could lead to their collapse across the Lagos Metropolis. Speaking on Traffic Radio. 96.1 FM on a programme tagged: “Materials Testing Mata” aired on Monday, Engr. Abdul informed of the need to “See something, Say something”, in averting episodes of Building Disaster following Non-Compliance on materials testing of structures across the Metropolis . “Building Collapse will consistently be a recurring issue if materials testing on structures is neglected. The recent structural collapse on Oremeta Street, Ojodu-Berger, was due to non-compliance with the results of a destructive test conducted during the materials testing process.       Just In. The attention of the Nigerian Army has been drawn to a charred body purported to be that of the missing Maj Gen IM Alkali rtd. The Nigerian Army wishes to state that the information is false and hereby dissociates itself from the viral picture. 
Meanwhile, the COAS LT Gen TY Buratai has commended the task force that recovered the vehicle of the senior officer from the DU pond. He has however charged them to redouble their efforts towards unraveling the whereabouts of the retired senior officer.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
