 FG reaffirms commitment to North-East inclusion in Agro-Industrial Project amid exclusion claims The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security has dismissed concerns raised by the North-East Caucus of the National Assembly regarding the alleged exclusion of the region from the Federal Government's flagship agricultural initiative the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone (SAPZ) program. The minister of agriculture and food security Sen. Abubakar Kyari made the clarification over the weekend while briefing the media. He noted that the North-East is not only included in the SAPZ program, but that several states from the region have already met the eligibility criteria for the second phase of the project. The response comes on the heels of public criticisms sparked by the recent groundbreaking ceremonies in Kaduna and Cross River states. Assets Declaration: PDP Commends Makinde For Fulfilling Electoral Promise
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) hails the decision of the Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde for making public his assets declarations forms, in line with his electioneering campaign promise.
The party notes that such voluntary decision further demonstrates Governor Makinde’s commitment to transparency and good governance, for which the people of Oyo state voted massively for him in the March 9, 2019 governorship election.
The PDP commends Governor Makinde for refusing to repudiate the promises he made in the heat of elections, which is an uncommon act of fidelity in our clime.
The PDP is assured that this stance will further endear him to the people of Oyo State as well as showcase our party as a party whose members make their words their bond.
In this regard, the PDP is in no doubt as to Governor Makinde’s commitment and ability to deliver good governance and the much-expected development to the people of Oyo state
The PDP also encourages leaders at all levels to strive to remain faithful to promises they might have made in the course of electioneering campaigns.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up. The Appellant is an actor. He acted in a script that he was invited to act by his colleague (PW1), Damilola Adekoya,” he said.
