Former Governor of Zamfara State, Abdul Azeez Yari, has met with key arrowheads of his camp in Talata-Mafara today and perfected the first phase of their plan to destabilise the state.
An exclusive source who was a member of the caucus that attended the meeting spoke to our reporter on the basis of anonymity that the Yari camp has mapped out a number of clandestine activities attempted at destabilising the administration of Governor Bello Mohammed even at the detriment of the wellbeing of the state.
The source, who said he was irked by the decisions taken, could not go along with the plan because according to him, opposition cannot go beyond correction and take the face of destabilising the peace and wellbeing of the people in the state.
One of the measures Yari and his team plan to take is to sponsor some members of the proscribed "Yan Sa Kai" to to attack Fulani settlements in order to trigger a fresh feud with the repentant bandits who will now assume the Government has failed in its peace agreements with them.
The next action plan is to subvert the plan of security authorities of transferring out of the state its operatives who have glaringly delved into politics and are still partisan in their operations to the extent of undermining the peace achieved in the state.
Our source further revealed that the camp resolved to smear the name and image of the state Governor, Bello Mohammed, in order to portray him in bad light, especially with the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, who is very much impressed with the Governor for bringing peace to Zamfara and has since, been in his good books despite party differences.
The meeting also dwelled on what they termed as persecution of their members whom the security operatives have arrested and taken to court on charges bordering on security.
The group also resolved to petition the Inspector-General of Police and the Intelligence community leadership in the same manner Yari did in the past to stop Magu from being confirmed as the substantive head of the EFCC.
According to our source, one Aminu Sani Jaji, who bragged as the former Chairman of National Security in the National Assembly, was tasked with the responsibility of dwelling on the high command of the Nigeria Police to avert Justice on those charged, while Abdulazeez Yari himself will dwell on the National Assembly, all in the bid to lobby for the evasion of Justice.
The last of their resolution involve an attempt to frustrate the state Government in its lawful duty of removing illegal structures in the state because it partly involves the property of some of their members who illegally erected structures and cunningly term them as their party offices.
"I divulge this information to you because I am of the firm belief that the peace, harmony and progress of my state is greater than my personal interest", our source revealed.
