 Lagos Court Jails NOGASA Chair, Fatuyi Phillips 21 Years  for N43.5m Fraud    Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, on Monday, November 18, 2024, convicted and sentenced Fatuyi Yemi Philips, Chairman, Natural Oil and Gas Suppliers Association of Nigeria, NOGASA, to 21 years imprisonment for N43.5m fraud.   The Lagos Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on April 5, 2022, arraigned Philips alongside his firm, Oceanview Oil and Gas Limited, on a two-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of N43, 502,000.00   Count one reads: "Fatuyi Yemi Philips and Oceanview Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited, on or about the 28th day of September, 2016 at Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, with intent to defraud, obtained the aggregate sum of N43, 502,000.00 from Elochukwu Okoye and Elebana Unique Ventures Nigeria Limited on behalf of WAPCIL Nigeria Limited under the false rep

GOVERNOR BALA DISTRIBUTES EMPOWERMENT ITEMS IN GANJUWA AND DARAZO,{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed today performed the launching of empowerment programme under Kaura Economic Empowerment Programme (KEEP) for beneficiaries in Ganjuwa and Darazo Local Government Areas of the state.


At the ceremony in Kafin Madaki of Ganjuwa Local Government and Darazo Local Government separately, Governor Bala said the occasion is a continuation of the formal launching of the programme in all the 20 Local Government Areas of the State.


He said the empowerment items are part of the package the State Government earmarked to address unemployment and poverty in the state.


He added that his administration is desirous of pulling the majority of people of the state out of poverty and it is determined to give the necessary support to poverty alleviation and economic empowerment agencies to effectively and efficiently discharge their responsibilities.


Governor Bala reassured the people of the state that his administration is irrevocably committed to the upliftment of their condition of living through various economic empowerment programmes.


The Governor disclosed plans by his administration to support artisans and traders across the state with five hundred million naira soft loan to improve their business activities.


The items for the empowerment include provision of stater packs and fifty thousand naira cash to five hundred persons per local government, provision of three motorcycles in each ward of the twenty local governments for ward chairmen, coordinators as well as youth leaders as beneficiaries.


Others according to the Governor Bala are the provision of one hundred thousand cash to women and youth leaders in each of the twenty local governments as well as five buses to each of the local government areas of the state.


Governor Bala at the occasion ordered the immediate payment of July salary to enable Muslims  celebrate the forthcoming sallah without any challenges.


Also speaking, the State First Lady Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed and the State PDP Chairman Hamza Koshe Akuyam appreciated Governor Bala for his foresight to initiate the empowerment program which will significantly reduce the level of poverty and unemployment in the society.


In their goodwill messages, members of the State House of Assembly representing the two LGAs, Honorable Yusuf Inuwa Dadiye, Honorable Garzali Abubakar, Honorable Sabo Sade assured their support and cooperation for the success of the empowerment program of Governor Bala led administration in the State.
