RRS HEADQUARTERS ON THE VERGE OF A NEW LOOK  WITH AN OFFICE EXTENSION

•Personnel welfare begets excellent delivery, says Commander Egbeyemi

The headquarters of the Lagos state Rapid Response Squad (RRS), is set to witness a facelift in the form of an office extension, towards enhancing the agency's round the clock operations.

The security agency set up over two decades ago by the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu led government to complement the efforts of the Lagos state police command in policing the state, has over the years witnessed increased deployment of operatives, thus, requiring periodical appraisals and suiting  reinvention et al.

The current commander of the agency, CSP Saheed Olayinka Egbeyemi, at the assumption of office, immediately swung into action, placing high premium on personnel welfare, as has been his style at previous duty posts as divisional police officer (DPO), at four (4), different divisional headquarters and of late, as chairman, Lagos state task force on environment and special offences, where he, all left legacies and indelible marks of welfarism for uptimum service delivery.

True to type, at the inception of his stewardship of the RRS, in December of the year 2020, one of his first observations was the non availability of an official lobby for the agency's standby operatives, which inevitably meant that, the operatives had to make do with hanging out and sheltering under available shades around the agency's precinct.

The commander, immediately reached out to the appropriate government quarters with his suggestion for an official extension of the agency's edifice to make provision for the observed gaps for enhanced operations; the approval was duly secured owing to the import of the proposal and the new office extension is already at a very advanced stage of completion now and will be ready for commissioning in no distant future.

The new office extension consists of a very spacious lobby for the standby men of the agency who hitherto had no place, the offices of the O/C Decoy and O/C Provost; it will also house the Archives,  an operational office and toilet facility.

The commander of the agency, while, commending the Lagos state government for it continued support to the unit through the Lagos state security trusts fund (LSSTF), averred that, his philosophy has always been, unalloyed commitment  on the job, laced with unwavering appetite for the welfare of operatives, because personnel welfare will naturally beget excellent delivery, he stressed.

CSP Saheed Olayinka Egbeyemi has further said that, the Lagos state government under the stewardship of his Excellency Mr. Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu and team, commits huge and unrivalled resources to the security of lives and property of Lagosians and the Rapid Response Squad ranks  highest on the list of beneficiaries of the government's support as regularly demonstrated in the supplies of a range of modern times security gadgets and operational vehicles.

At the completion of the new offices, added to the regular prompt receipt of operational allowances, we are sure to witness added impetus to the overall morale of personnel and expectedly elicit more commitment from them and by implication enhanced security for life and property in the state.
